Overview
The Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) role is vital to the effective and efficient running of flood risk pumping stations, water control structures and our wider business. You will join a MEICA team to prioritise, plan and deliver the maintenance or replacement of crucial assets enabling flood protection to homes, businesses and the environment, with increasing importance as climate change presents new challenges. You will work closely with external contractors to develop a world class asset management organisation.
The role also provides strong technical leadership to assure technical and design standards, monitors quality, and advises on requirements to meet specialist MEICA technical, safety, legal, environmental and operational requirements across geographic areas with a diverse asset base.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership on MEICA activity and participate in our response to flood incidents.
- Deliver mechanical support and direction to team members and liaise with a wide range of business partners.
- Prioritise, plan and oversee maintenance or replacement of MEICA assets to protect communities and the environment.
- Ensure compliance with technical, safety, environmental and operational requirements; monitor quality and advise on design standards.
Experience and Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering-related statutory legislation, and British and European standards.
- Experience leading safety investigations and disseminating learning to improve engineering and behavioural safety.
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, reliability engineering, process improvement, technical leadership, and writing/reviewing technical specifications.
- Educated to at least HNC/D or degree level in a mechanical discipline.
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
Role and Professional Requirements
- Role requires external liaison, technical documentation, and alignment with regulatory requirements for MEICA projects.
- Professional registration at I-Eng or C-Eng is preferred but not essential.
Location, Working Arrangements and Contacts
You can be based at any of the listed locations with occasional hybrid homeworking and site visits; therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
