OverviewHours: Full Time - 40 hours - Monday to FridayCreating and maintaining great places to live and work delivered by excellent people who care…Purpose of RoleVINCI is seeking a dependable and experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to deliver high-quality repairs and maintenance across our UK retail contract portfolio. While the role is air-conditioning focused, a multi-skilled approach with solid mechanical and electrical (M&E) knowledge is essential.Job DescriptionAs an Air Conditioning Engineer, you will provide planned and reactive maintenance to a variety of retail environments, ensuring all HVAC systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with VINCI’s service standards. You will work both independently and alongside other engineers or subcontractors to maintain optimal conditions in customer-facing spaces.ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and respond promptly to reactive maintenance and breakdowns within retail stores and distribution sites.Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on a wide range of air conditioning systems, including Splits, VRFs, AHUs, DX systems, and occasional central plant equipment.Support system upgrades and retrofit projects, ensuring minimal disruption to retail operations.Provide accurate quotations for remedial work or system replacements after service visits.Complete and maintain FGAS compliance records and update VINCI’s internal reporting platforms.Collaborate effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, and retail site managers to deliver seamless service.Essential Qualifications/SkillsF-Gas Certification (C&G 2079 – Category 1) – mandatory.Strong knowledge of air conditioning systems and general mechanical building services.Previous experience in a mobile commercial or retail maintenance role.Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills with a proactive, customer-focused attitude.Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points).NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is desirable but not essential.BenefitsIn return for your hard work we offer additional training and development, 26 days holiday (+ bank holidays), generous pension contribution, life assurance and much more.We are VINCI Facilities – experts in the built environment.
