Overview

Arcus FM is recruiting a Mobile Engineer (React Native) to join the team. This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC) for a Software Developer responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of software applications that meet the needs of the business and its clients.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Write, test, and deploy clean, efficient, and maintainable code for software applications; gather and understand technical and business requirements from stakeholders.
• System maintenance: Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to enhance performance and security.
• Collaboration: Work with designers, product managers, and other developers to ensure cohesive and user-friendly interfaces and functionalities.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation to support the development process.
• Innovation: Propose and implement innovative technologies to improve the software development process and product performance.

Qualifications

This position requires professional experience in mobile development, the ability to innovate and problem-solve, and a strong understanding of modern software development practices and tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficient in JavaScript and the React Native framework. Optional but nice to have include SQL, React, CSS, and Node.js.
• Strong understanding of app deployments in both the Play Store and Apple App Store.
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Certifications in relevant programming languages or frameworks are a plus.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Awareness of emerging technologies and programming trends, and experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to optimize applications for speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
