Mobile Power Access Engineer required in the Basildon, Essex area

Due to company growth, our client are recruiting for a Mobile Power Access Engineer in the Basildon, Essex area. It is essential that you have IPAF & CAP training/certs for Static Booms (1B Category).

The successful applicant(s) will be expected to work remotely on a mobile basis within a small team strategically located within regional areas, this role being the Basildon, Essex area. A company vehicle, PDA, phone and specialist tooling will be supplied for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with your team and controller to organise, plan and carry out routine visits to customer locations to perform planned compliance inspections.
  • Provide SMR to equipment such as On Board Power Systems, Swing Lifts, and Access Platforms.
  • Undertake service inspections to vehicle ancillary equipment following service documents provided on our PDA software.
  • Provide regular maintenance and repairs to equipment to prevent excessive downtime due to unit failure.
  • With assistance from your team supervisor, manage and control your own supply and stock of general consumables and fast-moving parts.
  • Keep your vehicle clean and presentable, carrying out daily checks to ensure it remains in serviceable condition.
  • Ensure all work is done to a high standard and that vehicles or plant are only released back to the user when safe and serviceable.
  • Provide accurate and timely service reports to your team supervisor and controller detailing completed assets; create digital records of work undertaken and submit records and certification.

Job Type / Category

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 9-hour working day, Mon – Fri with flexibility depending on travel and site locations; longer hours may be required.
  • Overtime available – Further details upon request.
  • 28 Days holiday inc bank holidays.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Ideally a mechanical/electrical biased background.
  • Opportunity to extend skill set from automotive sector.
  • Willingness to provide outstanding customer service and experience.
  • Maintain any required professional qualifications.
  • Able to work in a mobile environment efficiently.
  • Conduct yourself in line with company culture and policies.
  • IPAF & CAP trained staff for Static Booms (1B Category).

Salary

Starting at £45,000 per annum, plus quarterly bonus scheme worth up to £4,000 per year.

Experience

The following attributes would be beneficial. We are keen to hear from candidates who have some of the below experience and want to progress with our business. A personal training plan to upskill staff will be provided where required.

  • Motor Vehicle & Automotive Sector.
  • 12v / 24v Power systems.
  • Existing experience in vehicle ancillary equipment such as On Board Power Tail Lifts, Swing Lifts, Power inverters, MEPW’s.
  • Delivering and exceeding customer service levels.
  • Ability to drive a medium sized van.
  • Ability to work remotely at customer locations.
  • Basic IT literacy to work with PDA workstation.
  • Driving licence (mandatory).
