The Role
Provide engineering support across automated Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) including cranes, conveyors, elevators, and sorters.
Maximise equipment availability by attending and rectifying breakdowns safely and efficiently.
Carry out planned, routine, and reactive maintenance in line with site schedules.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related faults.
Work with a range of manufacturers' systems (PLC/WMS based).
Accurately record all maintenance activities and parts usage via CMMS.
Liaise with contractors and external suppliers to resolve complex issues.
Support operations teams to ensure smooth and continuous production.
Maintain safe, tidy workshops and adhere to hygiene standards.
Recommend improvements to increase reliability and reduce downtime.
The Person
Apprentice-trained in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
ONC/HNC (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline.
Experienced in both mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis.
Knowledge of PLC systems (preferably Siemens).
Experience within an automated warehouse or highly mechanised DC environment.
Physically fit, comfortable working at heights up to 25m.
IT literate, with MS Office skills.
Strong communicator with the ability to work under pressure.
Awareness of safe working practices and compliance standards.
