Metalis are looking for a skilled and proactive Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic high-volume production client in Sheffield. This hands-on role is critical to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the plant equipment, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems while supporting mechanical tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Perform planned preventive and reactive maintenance on electrical and electro-mechanical equipment (production lines, motors, pumps, control panels, etc.). Diagnose and repair electrical faults, including control wiring, drives, sensors, and instrumentation. Support mechanical repairs involving pumps, pipework, and hydraulics. Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, safety, and efficiency. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, HSE standards, and environmental requirements.Person Specification
Time-served Electrical Engineer with 18th Edition certification. Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing or industrial settings. Strong electrical fault-finding skills, including motors, drives, control circuits, and PLCs. Solid understanding of mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical and engineering drawings. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities. Awareness of HSE compliance in chemical or manufacturing environments.
