A leading international manufacturing business is looking for a motivated and versatile

Multi-Skilled Engineer

to join their site team in Erskine. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in a fast-paced production environment, and wants to develop their career with a business that values training, safety, and continuous improvement. This role is offered on a shift pattern (4 on, 4 off, days & nights)

and provides the chance to work across a wide range of complex machinery and processes.

The Role

Carry out maintenance and repair of production equipment to minimise downtime

Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults across a variety of systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical circuits)

Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and record all work accurately using the companys maintenance system

Support continuous improvement projects, small-scale engineering initiatives, and upgrades to plant equipment

Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and efficient

Liaise with contractors on site, ensuring health & safety standards are always maintained

Contribute to knowledge-sharing within the engineering team and support colleagues with troubleshooting

What Youll Need

Minimum of 3 years engineering experience in a

manufacturing, processing, or industrial environment

NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Engineering (apprentice-trained, HND, BTEC, or City & Guilds equivalent)

Strong multi-skilled background

Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and reading engineering schematics/drawings

Self-motivated and able to make quick, effective decisions when issues arise

Good communication skills, confident using IT and MS Office

Ability to build relationships across production and management teams

Desirable (not essential)

Experience in production or processing industries

Knowledge of steam systems, water treatment, or heat recovery

Fabrication and welding skills

Electrical testing/inspection qualifications (e.g. BS7671, C&G 2391-52)

IOSH Managing Safely or similar H&S training

Experience in projects, Six Sigma, or Capex improvements
