This family-run and friendly business combines a rich heritage with expert advice to help their customers succeed.About the Multi-Skilled Engineer roleReporting to the Engineering Manager, your role will involve supporting all engineering activities by liaising with internal departments to carry out installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.Key responsibilitiesMaintain site electrical and mechanical equipment related to machinery, buildings, support services, and utilities, ensuring compliance with legislative standards, safety, and business requirements.Perform reactive maintenance on plant breakdowns and ancillary equipment to minimize production downtime, along with proactive machine maintenance according to the schedule.Identify areas for improvement, collaborate with the engineering team to implement solutions, and assist with occasional installation tasks, primarily focusing on machinery uptime maintenance.Ensure planned maintenance tasks are completed safely, cost-effectively, and in accordance with standards and timelines, without compromising food safety or health & safety regulations.Candidate requirementsEngineering qualification such as an apprenticeship with HNC, ONC, or equivalent, with experience in electrical or mechanical engineering within food manufacturing.Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical control and instrumentation faults quickly.Experience working safely, with knowledge of permit-to-work procedures; IOSH certification is preferable.Additional detailsThe Multi-Skilled Engineer position (ref: 8875) offers a salary of £42,000 - £48,000 depending on experience.
