Senior Recruitment Consultant at Stanford Black — Network Engineer for a Systematic Trading Firm | Up to £150K Base. A high-growth systematic trading firm is looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer to help scale and modernise their infrastructure. This role involves designing and implementing advanced networking solutions across LAN, WAN, Data Centre, Colo, Campus, and Cloud environments. Upcoming project work includes EVPN and VxLAN implementations, modernised architectural design, and multiple international data centre builds. The hire will also proactively identify opportunities for network automation and improved monitoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement networking solutions across LAN, WAN, Data Centre, Colo, Campus, and Cloud environments
• Lead projects involving EVPN and VxLAN in conjunction with modernised architectural designs
• Support multiple international data centre builds
• Identify opportunities for network automation and enhanced monitoring capabilities

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience with solid project execution examples
• Deep expertise in routing (OSPF, BGP, EVPN) and switching (VxLAN/VLAN)
• Experience in multi-tenant environments
• Preference for Arista; Cisco also considered
• CCIE or CCNP certification
• Cloud networking experience (ideally AWS or GCP)
• Monitoring/orchestration tooling experience (LANZ, Sflow, Kibana, Prometheus, CVP, Elastic, Grafana)
• Network diagnostic/performance tooling experience (netcat, tcptrace, Wireshark, etc.)
• Understanding of network security concepts: AAA (Radius/TACACS), device hardening, control plane protection
• Exposure to fast-paced industries — ideally trading, finance, or high-performance tech
