Overview

6-Month Contract – Inside IR35 – up to £475 per day.
London based – hybrid working – 3 days a week onsite.
Due to the nature of the role, active DV Clearance is required to be considered.

This role will provide Network, Security and Infrastructure technical support for the National Customer Services Centre (CSC). The individual will support services in the CSC portfolio, including operational and project tasks relating to the maintenance and development of the National IT Services. Occasional travel to other UK sites will be required. This role is vital to ensure the national infrastructure is available, secure and supported to best practice standards to enable operations.

Responsibilities

  • Existing Network Audit.
  • New Network Design Review.
  • BOM Review.
  • New DC Install, Configuration and Test.
  • Ensure personal workload is effectively managed, prioritised and issues are escalated to line management as necessary.
  • Ensure Adherence to required polices, standards, controls and best practice.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to ensure all services are maintained and knowledge is shared.
  • Proactively maintain and update the infrastructure to ensure security and reliability.
  • Proactively monitor environments to help prevent issues arising.
  • Ensure security procedures are followed, to comply with the relevant accreditation, procedures and/or guidance.
  • Support and mentoring of other members of the team to build a strong support service.
  • Strong experience within demonstrable roles developing DC network design(s) and implementation(s) or similar infrastructure engineering role(s).
  • Previous in-depth experience and demonstrable role(s) solely relating to DC design, implementation and data migration projects.
  • Comprehensive experience with Cisco Enterprise Catalysts, Switches, Routers, Firewalls; Fortinet Firewalls.

Qualifications and skills

  • Must hold a Cisco CCNA qualification.
  • Must hold a Cisco CCNP Data Centre Expert or Professional and one of the concentration qualifications (DCID, DCIT, DCACI, DCACIA, DCAUTO) preferably DCACI.
  • Full UK driving license required.
  • Some team leadership or technical mentoring experience preferred.
  • Good experience of network and infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Experience of VOIP and video conferencing.
  • Experience of converged infrastructure / network virtualisation.
  • Experience of scripting and automation tools.
  • Experience of network design and documentation.
  • Experience of load balancer technologies.
  • Experience of network hardening and security best practice.
  • Experience of PKI and encryption technologies.
  • Experience of ITIL change management.
  • Experience of failover testing, resilience and redundancy methodology.
  • Experience of working within an ITIL service environment working to defined metrics and SLAs.
  • Preferred ITIL V4 Foundation certified.
