OverviewWe’re looking for a Network Engineer to join our expanding team, supporting with an exciting upcoming network refresh programme. Quote from hiring manager.ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to Security & Networking Manager you’ll manage the day-to-day support of our current network and supporting infrastructure. Tasks typically include the identification, diagnosis, and resolution of network and security issues in collaboration with the IT security analyst & manager.Provide BAU and project-based support for network environments.Support with network management systems, collect routine network load statistics, model performance, and create reports with proposals for improvement.Act as technical point of contact for external suppliers on network BAU related activity, guiding and challenging them to deliver NCC’s requirements cost-effectively and promptly.Work closely with the IT Security function and operate within a Continual Service Improvement framework.Support with network security certification activities.Project related workSupport the delivery of network and security projects and BAU activity to meet IT & business priorities (e.g. deploying additional switching, firewalls, authentication, Wi-Fi, IoT).Collaborate with other IT teams & partners to deliver secure configurations for cloud and systems integrations (e.g. Azure, M365, customer or 3rd party partner systems).Assist the wider team in implementing and testing IT solutions for the IT future state, including procurement support and project documentation.Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation.What we’re looking for in your applicationWe welcome diverse applications; CVs should show:Proven experience in networking and/or security roles.Sole British National and willingness to undergo DV level security clearance.Knowledge of recent developments in networking hardware & software (e.g. software-defined networks).L2/L3 concepts, high availability protocols, network monitoring tools, and network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark.VPN & Remote Access, Wireless Administration.What we offerHybrid and flexible working patterns as standard, annual salary reviews, company-paid private medical insurance, up to 12.5% employer pension contribution, great people, honorary staff status at the University of Bristol, and a focus on wellbeing, EDI and learning & development.Salary: £36,068 to £53,381 per annum plus 12.5% employer pension, private medical insurance and additional benefits package.
