Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.A major UK infrastructure organisation is looking for an experienced Network Project Engineer to join its in-house technology team, supporting large-scale network transformation and modernisation projects across its critical operational network.Based just a short walk from London Bridge Station, this role offers the chance to work on high-impact, project-based design and delivery — implementing secure and resilient connectivity across complex enterprise environments.If you’re a CCNP-level engineer looking to move away from day-to-day support and into project design and delivery, this role offers genuine technical challenge, stability, and one of the strongest benefits packages in the industry.OverviewRole: Network Project Engineer within a major UK infrastructure organisation’s in-house technology team, focusing on network transformation and modernisation across critical operational networks.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement and deliver end-to-end network solutions across Fortinet and Cisco environments.Lead technical delivery for Fortinet SD-WAN rollouts and upgrades.Create and maintain detailed network documentation, HLDs/LLDs, and change records.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support secure and reliable connectivity.Support load balancing environments (F5 experience advantageous).Ensure solutions align with business requirements, performance, and security standards.Skills / Must HaveCCNP-level experience with strong knowledge of routing and switching.Hands-on experience with Fortinet SD-WAN and firewalls.Strong background in network design and project delivery.Excellent understanding of enterprise network infrastructure.Exposure to F5 load balancing (desired but not essential).Great communication and documentation skills.Final salary pension scheme25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysFree rail travel across the organisation’s networkOpportunity to lead on major network modernisation projectsTraining and certification support for Fortinet and F5Location3 days a week in the office – London Bridge StationAbout the employerA leading UK transport organisation operating one of the country’s largest and most advanced digital rail networks.
