Performance & Dynamics Engineer (Simulation / Stress / Loads)

In order to develop and expand the capabilities of SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK, we are looking to recruit Performance & Dynamics Engineer to work on major programmes within the Systems Engineering team by building computational models and running simulations. The role is initially for 6-12m, but may extend for an immediate start. It is based in Gloucester, with the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis after initial training - minimum of 3 days per week site based.You will be delivering performance and dynamic analysis for the mechanical, hydraulic and occasionally basic electrical systems as they relate to the operation of aircraft, landing gear, shock absorption, extension/retraction and steering.You will be able to understand and derive requirements and how these impact the validation and verification of the product utilising standardised methods and tools.Possessing good knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic system products, you will help guide product development to ensure the performance and dynamics of the integrated system meet the program requirements.Key aspects of this job include the following:Build computational models and run simulationsCalculate static and dynamic loadsConduct performance and frequency response analysesConduct stability, shimmy, modal analysis and failure case analysesCorrelate and validate computational modelsWrite and validate performance and dynamics requirementsDefine and document simulation cases and pass/fail criteriaOptimise design solutions in conjunction with other engineering disciplinesDefine test requirements and analyse and interpret test resultsAdherence to the programme schedulesRequirementsKnowledge of:Multi-body dynamic modelling and simulationLanding gear extension/retraction analysisShock absorber performance analysisRecoil analysisShimmy and stability analysisSystem loads generationModel IntegrationWorking knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, MSC ADAMS, MSC EASY5 and AMESimDesirable:Knowledge of nose-wheel steering analysis, vibration analysis, electrical systems engineering, airworthiness requirements and aircraft systems certificationExperience on requirements management and DOORSDBS clearance requiredCandidates with a Stress and/or Simulation Engineering background are welcomed to apply.BenefitsIF THE EMPLOYED ROUTE IS CHOSEN:Early finish on a Friday (1pm)5 weeks holiday per year plus statutory bank holidaysPersonal pension scheme whereby 5% contribution from employee and 8% from employer plus salary sacrificeDeath in service life insurance - covering up to 4x annual basic salary in the event of death in servicePEGI Share SchemeCareer development within Safran GroupTraining & development are a focusOnsite canteenIF THE CONTRACTOR ROUTE IS CHOSEN:Early finish on a Friday (1pm)Onsite canteen #J-18808-Ljbffr
