DCT Recruitment is proud to be supporting one of the UKs leading industrial projects at the Shotton Mill site in Deeside. We are currently recruiting for experienced Piping Commissioning Engineers to join a dynamic, high-performing team working on a complex and time-critical commissioning phase. This role is suited to someone with a strong background in mechanical or piping systems, who is confident in interpreting technical drawings and ensuring all systems are ready for safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities: Verify correct installation of all pipework, supports, and routing as per design specifications. Read, interpret, and work from P&ID, isometric, and general arrangement drawings. Perform detailed inspections of piping systems to ensure compliance with project standards. Identify and record any non-conformances or outstanding works through structured punch list processes. Liaise with welding inspectors and support quality assurance in line with industry codes and procedures. Support pressure testing, flushing, and final system handover activities. Communicate effectively with construction, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to resolve technical issues. Monitor commissioning progress and report updates or delays to site management. Maintain accurate documentation throughout the commissioning process.

Candidate Requirements: Proven experience in piping commissioning, preferably within industrial or process plant environments. Strong working knowledge of materials, fittings, and fabrication standards. Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings including isometrics and P&IDs. Familiarity with welding standards, inspection procedures, and quality documentation. Highly organised with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary site team. Valid CSCS or equivalent card preferred. Right to work in the UK.

Desirable: Experience on paper mill, refinery, power plant or large industrial sites Mechanical Engineering qualification or relevant trade background Knowledge of health and safety practices in commissioning environments
