Overview
As the Depop community continues to grow on a global-scale, the systems and cloud infrastructure behind our product must be intelligently designed and built to withstand peaks and troughs in demand.
As an Engineer on the core infrastructure team, you will play a key role in this effort. You'll focus on delivering high-value projects and ensuring the design and implementation of the next phase of our platform meet high standards with our users in mind. You’ll have the opportunity to make architectural decisions and drive improvements when better solutions are available. Our team values quick iteration and adaptation.
You'll use tools like AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Golang, and Python to build the next generation of our platform, enabling distributed ownership of services among engineers. Your work will help develop a robust infrastructure platform that supports Depop’s goals.
Responsibilities
- Build and Support Services: Contribute to the development and maintenance of reliable, scalable, and performant services, taking shared ownership of their operation and availability.
- Deliver Software Solutions: Develop and implement software that improves developer experience, scalability, and platform efficiency.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Help maintain, secure, and optimize the cloud infrastructure that underpins our platform, with a focus on stability and performance.
- On-Call Participation: Join our on-call rota to support services, respond to incidents, and help maintain reliability.
- Iterate and Improve: Find opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve processes and systems, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with developers, platform engineers, and security specialists to deliver infrastructure that enables smooth development and deployment workflows.
- Security and Compliance: Apply security guidelines and follow compliance standards when working on infrastructure and processes.
