Overview

Our Platform Engineers are hands-on technical leaders who help shape and deliver cloud-native transformation projects. They drive automation, infrastructure-as-code, and DevSecOps or SRE practices, while guiding agile teams to create innovative solutions that leverage the full potential of our hyperscale partners and their ecosystems.

Capgemini's cloud-native engineering community is at the forefront of technology. We support some of the world's most demanding applications and continuously push the boundaries of what's possible—developing solutions for tomorrow's challenges.

Hybrid working: The places you work from day to day will vary according to your role, needs, and business requirements; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home. You will not be able to work at home 100% of the time.

Pre-employment checks include identity, nationality or immigration status, employment history covering the last 3 years, and an unspent criminal record check (Disclosures and Barring Service).

Your role

As a Platform Engineer, you will:

  • Mentor and collaborate with teams to drive progress and innovation
  • Translate product visions into reality, enhancing developer experiences and enabling organizations to embrace cloud-native technologies
  • Partner with strategy, enterprise architecture, and application teams to lead cloud automation and Kubernetes initiatives
  • Inspire and support fellow engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, and continuous learning

You can bring your whole self to work. Capgemini is committed to building an inclusive future and creating a welcoming environment for everyone.

Your skills and experience

We're looking for individuals with:

  • Practical experience in cloud technologies, infrastructure, operations, and exposure to Oracle DB and services
  • Familiarity with cloud-native tools, languages, and methods, with expertise in containers, CI/CD pipelines, or infrastructure-as-code
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to share insights on emerging industry trends
  • Experience mentoring or supporting the development of junior engineers
  • Certification (or progress toward certification) with a major cloud service provider—we're happy to support your learning journey
  • Skills with microservices platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)

Your security clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements. Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility, including country of residence and nationality. Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship during the application process.

What does "Get The Future You Want" mean for you?

You will be empowered to explore, innovate, and progress. You will benefit from Capgemini's learning-for-life mindset, with training and development opportunities from think-tanks to hackathons and access to many courses and certifications.

You will be encouraged to maintain a positive work-life balance. Our hybrid-first approach means flexible working arrangements are part of day-to-day life for our people.
