Job Summary:
Join the PowerGen Technical Support team, providing technical assistance across Rolls-Royce Solutions power generation products and associated systems throughout their lifecycle. Responsible for daily support of sales solutions, aftersales, and parts inquiries, both internally and externally.
Occasional support for the wider PowerGen Business unit may be required during leave, high demand, or for coverage. The primary product range includes Diesel, Gas power generation, mtu KPP, and Battery Energy Storage Systems, with a willingness to develop knowledge of emerging products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a zero-harm culture by adhering to HSQE requirements.
- Ensure excellent customer communication and fulfill technical support requests.
- Provide technical support for sales solutions, aftersales, and end-user support across electrical, mechanical, and control systems within the UK, Ireland, and overseas as applicable.
- Maintain project technical documentation, including drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Design, build, test, and commission control circuits as needed.
- Accurately record tasks via the CEC platform and lead resolution of technical issues.
- Support the development and review of work instructions, processes, and spare parts database.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and customers.
- Write method statements and assist with risk assessments.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal departments, partners, and customers.
- Participate in customer witness testing and support training programs.
- Lead the development of new technical solutions and continually improve technical competence and processes.
- Support the service team with technical assistance, including site visits when necessary.

Person Profile:
We seek an enthusiastic individual with strong communication skills, capable of working independently and in teams. Must manage tasks effectively, be qualified or willing to work towards MTU power generation products knowledge, and have mechanical and electrical experience. Willingness to travel within the UK, ROI, and occasionally overseas for training is required. The role is primarily office-based but involves travel.
Computer skills should include proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Rolls-Royce Solutions software such as SAP, C4S, CCC, MTU Go Care, and others. A full UK driving license and fluency in English are required. Strong writing, data analysis, and process skills are essential.
Qualifications required include at least 5 years of relevant experience, a qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar, and GCSE English and Maths or equivalent. Willingness to pursue professional registration with the Engineering Council is encouraged.
