Job Overview
As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and guidance to a design team in delivering water and wastewater projects. The role involves detailed technical analysis, financial project management, and ensuring project delivery. You will work with Project Design Leads and stakeholders to ensure delivery, value for money, and innovation are incorporated into the process. Southern Water is seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join the Water/Wastewater Infrastructure Civil team based in Falmer, Brighton, on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a highly skilled team, solve technical problems, analyze data, and make decisions.
• Develop and maintain projects in accordance with health, safety, environment, and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to the project team.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, negotiating and influencing senior internal and external parties.

Candidate Profile

• Strong understanding of team roles and collaborative working.
• Critical thinking skills with the ability to make empowered decisions.
• Solutions-focused with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Water/Wastewater Infrastructure and Civil Engineering.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting technical ideas to diverse audiences.

Package

This role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with a hybrid working approach between Falmer office and home. We offer a salary of up to £75,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, along with benefits including:
