Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop functional design for Vehicle Control solutions for SSNA.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to oversee delivery of vehicle control solutions and strategies.
• Collaborate with the Office of the Chief Engineer to support assurance activities.
• Assist in delivering the vehicle control system, reporting progress via agile tools.
• Ensure engineering delivery plans are met on schedule.
• Guide team members on engineering methods and processes.
• Work with the Engineering Delivery Team to develop technical solutions and mentor team members.
• Engage with legacy stakeholders to develop solutions based on existing designs.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in designing large-scale C&I systems, meeting functional and industry standards.
• Knowledge of managing non-functional requirements like EMC and shock.
• Proficiency in authoring/reviewing design documents (I/O schedules, specifications, interface control documents).
• Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, Maths, or Science.

Desirable Skills

• Understanding of control system architecture and communication protocols (e.g., RS-485, PROFIBUS).
• Experience with IEC 61508 or similar functional safety standards.
• Experience with maneuvering systems across industries.
