Contract Opportunity: Principal EC&I Engineer Location: North West (Hybrid - 1 day remote) Contract Length: 12 months (with strong likelihood of extension) Rate: Up to £60 per hour (Outside IR35) Hours: 4-day week (Monday to Thursday, 10-hour days) An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Principal EC&I Engineer to join a growing portfolio of projects within the UK nuclear sector. Working on technically complex and safety-critical systems, you will be at the forefront of engineering delivery and design assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership and detailed input into the design and delivery of EC&I systems across major nuclear projects.

Develop and review engineering documentation, specifications, and calculations to ensure regulatory and quality compliance.

Lead design reviews, hazard studies, and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.

Liaise with clients, project managers, and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure efficient and compliant project execution.

Ensure design output supports safety, functionality, and lifecycle objectives.

Ideal Candidate:

Solid background in EC&I engineering within the nuclear industry - experience at AWE or Sellafield is a strong advantage.

Proven ability to deliver EC&I designs in a safety-critical and regulated environment.

Familiar with the full engineering lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
