Principal Electrical Engineer

Amentum is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team, supporting projects in the UK and abroad, particularly focused on nuclear power stations and helping achieve the UK's Net Zero targets. We consider applications from various UK locations including Warrington, Knutsford, Gloucester, and Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Capture requirements and constraints in line with project processes, using tools like IBM DOORS.
  2. Translate high-level requirements into validated electrical system/component designs.
  3. Validate electrical designs through analysis, modeling, and simulation to ensure they meet requirements.
  4. Develop and review electrical tests to demonstrate compliance with requirements.
  5. Engage with external organizations, including regulators, clients, and suppliers, regarding electrical system design.
  6. Deliver high-quality, accurate, and timely engineering work.
  7. Maintain knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and other relevant disciplines.
  8. Experience with new build projects and close collaboration with clients.
  9. Effective communication skills for client interfacing.
  10. Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations.
  11. Adaptability to new challenges and problems.
  12. Proficiency with relevant software tools like Microsoft Office, ETAP, Aveva 3D.

Qualifications:

  1. Relevant engineering Degree/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  2. Chartered status or working towards CEng / IEng.
  3. Ability to obtain security clearance.
