What You’ll Do
As Principal Electronics Engineer, you will be accountable for:
- Technical Leadership
- Defining system architecture and setting engineering standards.
- Leading design reviews with technical rigour and compliance.
- Acting as a subject matter expert on complex technical issues.
- Project & Team Management
- Oversee end-to-end electronic system development.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers.
- Provide technical direction and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Research & Development
- Lead innovation in product design, power management, and control systems.
- Utilise simulation, modelling, and analytical tools to optimise designs.
- Manage advanced R&D initiatives from concept to production.
- Quality, Compliance & Problem-Solving
- Ensure compliance with EMC, safety, and reliability standards.
- Troubleshoot complex system and PCB-level issues.
- Contribute to risk management, FMEA, and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Engage with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and regulators.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear communications.
- Produce requirements, specifications, and test documentation.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Electronic Engineering (or related discipline).
- 10+ years’ experience in product design & development.
- Hands-on experience across full product lifecycles.
- Proven track record leading multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong expertise in PCB design (preferably Altium Designer).
- Skilled in simulation, design, and testing of embedded processors & interfacing electronics.
- Experience in EMC design and compliance resolution.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
- Postgraduate qualifications in electronics, power electronics, or related field.
- Experience in SMPS design, thermal modelling, or advanced reliability analysis.
- Knowledge of digital communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C).
- Experience driving process improvements and departmental capability growth.
