This opportunity would suit a Chartered Engineer (MICE or MIStructE) with significant experience delivering at a senior level. You will be responsible for leading a team of designers and CAD technicians, liaising with interdisciplinary departments and meeting with clients on a regular basis. The successful candidate will have the chance to work in one of the UK’s leading private Engineering Consultancies, providing integrated solutions for a range of public and private clients.RESPONSIBILITIESBuilding relationships with Clients on projects and working with senior staff to promote the business.Preparation of fee proposals.Preparing bridge design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and other project documentation as required in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practiceUsing specialist bridge analysis software such as MIDAS, LUSAS and Autodesk Structural Bridge Design to undertake complex modelling of bridgesLeading and assisting with the preparation of documentation relating to projectsDesigning in 3D modelling environments such as Revit and Civil 3DTaking a lead role in the resolution of technical issuesSupervision and technical development of other engineering team membersAttendance at design meetings and site inspectionsQUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCEDegree in civil engineeringChartered professional statusYou will have a gained substantial structural design experience within the bridges sector and in a consultancy environmentHave previous relevant site experience including supervision of elements of large, complex bridge engineering projectsExcellent communication skills including technical written EnglishExperience preparing design deliverables using civil engineering design software packagesFlexible and enthusiastic approach, team player, proactive and delivery focusedWHAT WE OFFER YOUCompetitive salary and excellent flexible benefits packageComprehensive training opportunities and reimbursement of professional feesContributory pension, personal health care plan and life insurance33 days annual leave (inclusive of Public Holidays)Annual leave purchase and buy-back schemeBonus Schemes including loyalty bonus and qualifications awardAdditional benefits may vary between officesYou can learn more about our staff benefitshere.ETHOSWe, at Fairhurst, know that progress within the industry is all about people.
