\n Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. \n
Develop engineering capability through coaching, recruitment, and career development aligned with DDaT frameworks. \n
Excellent development skills, with a depth of experience including C#, Java (Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate), REST API's, observability and monitoring, queue technologies and security. \n
Detailed knowledge of best practices such as SOLID principles \n
Experience of building new and evolving microservices with emphasis on high availability and data integrity. \n
Highly experienced in test methodologies including unit testing with JUnit, use of TDD, integration tests and end-to-end testing, as a way to promote high quality codebases. \n
Working with relational databases -Postgres would be of particular relevance. \n
Supporting and developing complex architecture including APIs \n
Willing to be part of a 24/7 L3 support team (on call) \n
Management and resolution of tickets relating to incident, change, service request and problem processes in accordance with the agreed PPPT / DDaT operating models \n
\n
Day to day task will include
\n
\n Developing and maintaining the existing service. \n
Updated service documentation where necessary. \n
Peer reviews \n
Demonstration and acceptance of changes by the Programme Manager or agent on behalf of PM during the Sprint Review. \n
Supporting and mentoring junior staff \n
\n

We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join the SAS PPPT Leadership team. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate leadership of complex projects and stakeholder engagement.

Leadership/Mentoring \n
Backlog refinement and preparation of user stories \n
In depth knowledge of a fourth- programming (4GL) \n
Object orientated analysis and design \n

Skills required (Desirable)

\n Front End\n \n Java Script/View JS \n
\n
\n
An interest/skills in AWS DevOps principles and orchestration tools such as Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes clusters including helm charts, Git \n
Provide assurance on technical decisions, risk mitigation, and compliance with GDS standards. \n
Good communication and interpersonal skills to be able to work with both business and technical stakeholders at various levels in the organisation. \n
