Principal Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) 61600

Responsibilities

• General – Work in a joint leadership capacity within a MEP discipline team; supervise the completion of detailed designs; lead feasibility studies; act as the client’s key point of contact and responsible for overall project delivery.
• Business Development – Provide excellent client care and opportunities to develop additional business; promote WSP’s capabilities and expertise in the region.
• Management – Direct the production of detailed and performance specification; develop and line‑manage junior staff; maintain project overview and resource requirements; hold regular team meetings.
• Your Team – Lead an engineering delivery team of 10 engineers (plus a wider group of 35) based at Heathrow, with flexible working from other sites and home.

Qualifications

• Experience managing engineers toward delivery of key projects.
• Technical judgment and resourcefulness for feasibility studies, concept, scheme and detailed design, and construction support phases.
• Client representation and delivery of client needs in engineering solutions.
• Working knowledge of UK mechanical building services design, including standards, codes, regulations, and a proven track record on diverse UK MEP projects.
• Knowledge of latest mechanical design software packages and Revit MEP or other 3D design software.
• Ability to manage technical, cost and programme elements of project delivery.
• UK vetting level of Security Check (SC) required.

Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).
