Job Title: Principal Engineer – Product Safety

Location: Barrow-In-Furness – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about options for this role.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading a small team in developing a functional Safety Case.
• Managing the production of a functional Safety Case to a defined schedule, reporting to a Safety Engineering Manager.
• Conducting complex safety analyses such as Fault Tree Analysis and Event Tree Analysis.
• Producing written safety justifications.
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including System Engineers and Human Factors SMEs.

Your skills and experiences:

• STEM Degree or relevant experience.
• Experience leading a small team.
• Experience delivering functional Safety Cases.
• Previous submarine experience, particularly in Vehicle Control.
• Knowledge of Complex Control Systems.
