Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension.Overview Of RoleWe – the Energy Unit, specifically the Nuclear, Defence and Civil division are looking to recruit a Principal Safety Case Engineer to join our team. The role will cover a number of areas including nuclear power generation, the naval nuclear programme and decommissioning. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team with plenty of opportunities for career progression and the chance to make an impact on the development of the Energy landscape.For this role you will be expected to demonstrate knowledge/experience within one or more of the following areas:Safety Case Production (e.g. SJP, PCSR, PCmSR, PRS)Modification/ Design Change Submissions (LC/AC 22)DecommissioningFunctional Safety AssessmentRegulatory InterfaceALARP AssessmentSafety & Risk AssessmentDeterministic Safety AssessmentProbabilistic Safety AssessmentNuclear Safety Legislation, Regulation and PolicyEngineering SubstantiationHAZOP and other identification studiesHAZANCriticalityNuclear FireCandidate SpecificationCandidate Requirements:Degree qualified in a Science, Technology or Engineering disciplineExperience in the nuclear or defence industries (although applicants from other high-hazard industries will be considered)Chartered Engineer or working towardsAbility to demonstrate successful delivery of nuclear safety deliverables and strategy on complex projectsWilling to develop and mentor more junior members of staffIf you meet 80% or more of what we’re looking for, please still apply.
