Role details The role involves supporting the Patria 6×6 armoured personnel carrier vehicle programme, following Babcock’s agreement to be Patria’s UK build partner. This is a high-profile opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a NATO-backed platform for the British Army — from concept through to delivery and support. This role offers a chance to impact defence and aerospace while advancing your career in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities
Leading the development and delivery of safety cases and safety arguments for vehicle systems Conducting hazard identification and analysis (HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, FTA) Defining and managing safety requirements with full lifecycle traceability Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to embed safety in all activities Supporting the creation of safety plans, assessments, and compliance evidence for stakeholders
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements. Essential Experience
Proven ability to develop and deliver safety cases and associated documentation Significant experience in safety engineering within defence, automotive, or aerospace sectors
Qualifications
Degree in engineering, safety, or a related technical discipline Strong understanding of safety standards such as DEF STAN 00-056, ISO 26262, or IEC 61508
Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
