Principal Developer - Commodity Trading - London - Full Time Permanent. We are partnering with a global leader in commodity trading to find an exceptional Senior Risk IT Developer for their Risk IT team. This role involves architecting a next-generation, cloud-native risk platform with a focus on speed, scale, and precision.

Responsibilities

• Develop and contribute to a greenfield risk platform, with no legacy constraints and full scope for innovation.
• Work with a modern tech stack including Python, C++, ClickHouse, and Iceberg.
• Shape how the client manages market risk across global portfolios and contribute to real-time risk capabilities.
• Address real technical challenges such as real-time VaR across large data volumes (billions of rows) with rapid computation.

What you’ll bring

• Strong engineering skills in Python, Java or C++.
• Solid understanding of market risk (e.g., VaR).
• A problem-solving mindset and the drive to build from first principles.
