Contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter.IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)Interview process: One stage video interviewPrincipal Structural Engineer Job Description: The Mechanical Analysis Group are looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to join its team in Stevenage.The group consists of over fifty engineers working across a wide spectrum of cutting-edge military systems.ResponsibilitiesWorking for an internationally recognised company, you will play a critical role in ensuring that products deliver the necessary performance against key structural requirements.Qualifications / SkillsDegree qualified in a STEM subject.Proven ability to carry out structural analysis through the application of hand calculations and Finite Element (FE) methods.Proven experience in the Altair FE toolset; experience in alternative FE codes such as NASTRAN, ANSYS, etc. will be considered.Experience areas (advantageous)Static, dynamic, fatigue analysisMetallic/composite analysisFinite Element optimisation & design of experimentsAssessment of mechanisms and multi-body dynamicsCrash analysisAdditional detailsAbility to make quick/simple assessments to progress design activities in an efficient manner.Self-motivated individuals who are great problem solvers and capable of taking responsibility for complex structural analysis tasks.Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as independently.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to network and influence internal and external customers.Relevant experience in an equivalent or comparable industry would be advantageous. #J-18808-Ljbffr
