Principal Structural Engineer in Sheffield. As a Principal Structural Engineer, you'll lead the design and delivery of complex building structures across various sectors, managing multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior engineers, and acting as the main point of contact for clients.You'll have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the business, support bids and proposals, and maintain strong client relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesLead structural design projects in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry from feasibility through to construction.Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers and technicians.Manage project resources, budgets, and delivery programmes.Liaise closely with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.Oversee high-quality reports, specifications, drawings, and calculations.Contribute to business development and bid preparation.Support internal quality, technical review, and continuous improvement initiatives.About YouBEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE or IStructE.Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale building projects.Strong technical understanding of UK design codes, building regulations, and modern construction techniques.Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.Proficiency with design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, ETABS, Robot, TEDDS, or similar.Commercially aware with good project management experience.DesirableExperience within the concrete frame, PBSA, or Build to Rent sectors.Knowledge of BIM workflows and Revit integration.Involvement in business development or industry committees/publications.What's on OfferCompetitive salary and annual bonus scheme.Hybrid working and flexible hours.25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.Company pension scheme.Paid professional membership fees.Ongoing CPD and a clear, structured career progression pathway.Cycle to work scheme, healthcare, and wellbeing support.Aldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
