OverviewPrincipal Structural Engineer/Associate – Oxford – £58k-£75kEstablished and well known leading property consultancy with over 300 staff throughout the UK are investing in their small in house structural design team to grow and develop this division. This is exciting times for the business with big growth plans for this sector. A new highly thought of senior Director of Engineering is already in place to steer this ship. This position would be for an experienced Structural Engineer with good steel and concrete design skills to join their Oxford team and assist with the leadership of the team. It could also be possible to work from the London office some days if desired. The Oxford structural team has 5 structural engineers currently plus technicians. It is planned to grow this team to around 20 staff in the not too distant future.
As well as doing hands on design you will be running projects and assisting with the future growth of the division. Your role will include preparing fee proposals, managing projects and design teams and mentoring more junior staff.
Responsibilities
Hands-on structural design and leadership of the Oxford team (with potential to work from the London office some days).
Run projects, prepare fee proposals, manage projects and design teams.
Mentor more junior staff and support future growth of the division.
Engage with mainly industrial and energy sector projects (datacentres, substations) with potential expansion into more mainstream buildings.
Qualifications
Good steel and concrete design skills.
Chartered or nearing chartered status preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
