Job Description:
Binnies' geotechnical team continues to grow due to ongoing successes in tendering. As we enter the next water regulatory period (AMP8), we will be providing geotechnical input for most UK water companies, focusing on storm spill reduction and developing reservoir designs to safeguard future drinking water supplies.
We support frameworks with the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and the Canals and River Trust. Our growth allows us to offer advanced geotechnical services, including complex designs and temporary works, providing staff opportunities to learn new skills and see their designs constructed.
The role of Principal Engineer/Associate Director involves mentoring junior staff, leading work packages, and reviewing junior staff's work.
About the Role:
- Review work of junior staff
- Design diverse geotechnical engineering solutions
- Provide technical oversight on projects
- Lead geotechnical work packages and teams
- Manage and lead parts of the geotechnical team
- Site visits
Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Masters degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering preferred
- Chartered status (ideally with ICE or IoM)
- Full UK driving license required for site visits
- Ability to work remotely
- Experience at a senior level
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Proactive problem-solving skills
- Successful in designing, planning, and organizing tasks
- Passion for engineering
