Do you have experience in Probabilistic Safety Analysis, safety case development, or working with complex industrial plant design? Responsibilities

  • Develop Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA) models for the UK EPR reactor fleet.
  • Maintain oversight of PSA work completed by our Responsible Designer in France to ensure it meets UK operational and regulatory standards.
  • Use PSA techniques and plant information to provide Risk Informed Design insights that enhance design, construction, commissioning, and operational safety.
  • Contribute specialist expertise to site-specific safety cases, manage, review, and accept work from specialist contractors, while acting as the Intelligent Customer for the HPC and SZC Licensees.
  • Build and maintain a strong, trusted relationship with our safety regulator.
  • Develop our PSA models and methodologies into a fully operational, living PSA, ensuring it continues to evolve and support safe, compliant operations across the fleet.

Who you are / Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to delivering practical safety solutions.
  • Solid academic background in science, engineering, or a numerate discipline.
  • Proven technical writing ability and experience working with complex systems and models.
  • Knowledge of Probabilistic Safety Analysis tools and techniques, and familiarity with complex industrial plant design.
  • Experience in safety case development within the nuclear sector, and ability to work in a regulated environment and build trusted relationships with internal teams and safety regulators.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret technical data, identify potential safety risks, and contribute to robust nuclear safety cases.
  • Eligibility criteria for Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) which ordinarily requires British residency for the last 3 years.
