Process Design Engineer

As part of our Global Project Development Team, you will design and optimize process solutions for major capital projects
from feasibility through to project handover. Based in Europe (with flexible work arrangements), you will work closely with colleagues across the U.S., Europe, and Asia to deliver robust, sustainable, and cost-effective process designs.
Key Responsibilities
Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and mass/energy balances for feasibility studies.
Conduct process simulations and preliminary sizing of key equipment.
Assess technology options based on performance, scalability, CAPEX/OPEX, and integration needs.
Prepare process design packages and documentation to support FID.
Collaborate with environmental, permitting, and engineering teams.
Participate in HAZOP, risk assessments, and early safety reviews.
Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Provide process input for equipment specifications and procurement.
Support detailed design reviews and technical handover to project delivery.
Your profile
Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering (Masters preferred).
8+ years process design experience in capital projects or industrial plants.
Proficient in Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or similar tools.
Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat/mass transfer.
Experience with PFDs, P&IDs, and process datasheets.
Familiar with HAZOP, risk analysis, and process safety principles.
Problem-solving mindset, strong communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
Chartered or working toward professional accreditation is a plus.
