As an experienced
Process Engineer
collaborating with
multidisciplinary engineering teams
with you will play a key role in reviewing design proposals and improvements to confirm they are technically sound, cost-effective, and suitable for real-world operation, ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable treatment and delivery of systems. As process engineer you will be responsible for monitoring, optimising, and improving treatment processes, working closely with operations, maintenance, and compliance teams to meet regulatory standards and performance targets.
As process engineer you will combine technical expertise with problem-solving, enabling you to support day-to-day operations while also driving long-term improvements in quality, efficiency, and environmental impact.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop and appraise process design solutions for treatment works.
Providing technical solutions and support on complex capital projects, including the production of project scoping documents, Works & Site Information, Design Drawings, CDM Documents and compilation of job packs to required deadlines
Prepare process design calculations and reviewing Contractor design calculations
Evaluate Whole Life Cost and TOTEX costings for process solutions
Develop Process and asset performance guarantees
Develop robust risk assessed solutions that deliver value to the business
Ensure quality of deliverables meet business and regulatory needs, including Check and Review of project scopes ensuring they achieve the required outputs and quality standards
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
HNC/HND, Degree level or equivalent, preferably in
chemical engineering
or process engineering or a relevant proven scientific or engineering field
Sound knowledge of the relevant regulations and Process Engineering specific standards and practices.
Knowledge of designing and/or optimising utilities treatment processes, or relevant applicable knowledge/skills
Excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate and influence colleagues
Ability to demonstrate and implement sound engineering judgement, identifying innovative solutions to complex problems
Competent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - knowledge of Google Workspace would be beneficial
A passion for continuous professional development
Experience in a relevant technical role within utilities
Awareness and understanding of industry standards, regulations and specifications
Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status would be advantageous.
