This permanent role involves working 2-3 days per week on-site and focuses on maintaining safety standards within high-stakes maritime projects.Key Responsibilities:Acting as the main focal point for Product Safety Assurance of equipment design following customer requirementsProviding credible advice and guidance to the wider business and external stakeholdersEnsuring safety considerations are integral to the design process and account for the entire product lifecycleMaintaining and managing the implementation of the Project Safety Management System for equipment design and deliveryEvolving working practices to manage product safety in a cost-effective mannerResolving a range of Product Safety engineering issues and compiling technical reports and presentationsDeveloping safety arguments for various equipment, employing all facets of the product safety lifecycleEnsuring that Product Safety standards defined by statutory, business, and customer requirements are observedWorking effectively as part of a team of Product Safety Engineers across the businessJob Requirements:Competence in Product Safety Engineering with a successful track record of delivering a Product Safety Management System (PSMS) within a complex system environmentKnowledge of applicable legislation and standards (e.g., HASAWA, COSHH, REACh, BS EN 61508, Def Stan 00-056, Def Stan 00-055)Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering/Systems/Safety disciplineCEng or equivalent experience to achieve it in the short-termMembership in a relevant industry-wide body, e.g., SCSC, SaRS, IET, IMechEIf you are passionate about safeguarding lives and assets in a high-stakes environment and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative setting, this role is for you.
