Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Location: Stanley Salary: Circa £47,500 Benefits: * Contributary pension scheme * Death in service * 24 days holiday + Bank holidays Hours of Work: * Monday – Thursday: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm * Friday: 7:30 am – 12:30 pm A prominent engineering firm, recognized for excellence, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in batch and serial manufactured metal parts and components. The role involves: * Working across diverse markets * Producing technically challenging fabricated and machined parts to high standards * Serving OEMs in sectors such as rail, defence, energy, automotive, power generation, and marine. Key Responsibilities: * Work from customer drawings and models to identify and plan efficient manufacturing methods for metal parts. * Launch new products following a robust NPI process and identify potential areas of concern or risk. * Create comprehensive engineering routings/instructions, manufacturing drawings, and piece part drawings. * Develop SOPs, work instructions, setup sheets, and design jigs and fixturing for efficient and risk-free production. * Actively identify continuous improvement opportunities and collaborate with production and quality teams for implementation. * Provide proactive support to achieve production and quality targets and assist the commercial team with technical issues and product costing. * Liaise with suppliers, customers, and research and development staff, and assist with new machine and technology investments. Key Skills: * Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a machining or fabrication manufacturing environment. * Minimum HNC in Mechanical/Production Engineering * Proficient in engineering drawings and understanding GD&T. * 2D CAD capability, 3D preferred. * Previous exposure to CNC machining, welding, fabrication or laser cutting.
