Are you the kind of engineer who prefers working closely with one machine at a time, taking ownership end-to-end—rather than being a small cog in a large production hall?
My client is a compact, tightly knit manufacturer near Cullompton, looking for a Production Engineer with a strong mechanical bias (70/30 mechanical/electrical) to join their small, skilled team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Own the performance, fault-finding, and optimisation of individual machines—one at a time. Carry out hands-on mechanical maintenance, setup, adjustments, and small upgrades. Tackle root-cause analysis when issues arise—you’ll be the go-to person for diagnosing and fixing. Support electrical/control systems at a secondary level (basic PLC interaction, sensors, wiring checks)—no need to be a full electrical specialist. Collaborate with a tight-knit team (2–5 people), sharing ideas and driving improvements in a new facility (so new, it still smells of paint!)
