As Project Engineer (Senior Authorised Person), you will deliver projects in the UK defence sector for prominent clients, handling capital programmes as well as operational projects on 33kV/11kV/400V private network contracts. Your role involves ensuring safety management, leading the delivery of all construction, maintenance, and fault works, and guaranteeing compliance with the highest quality standards. You'll take charge of daily planning, coordinate resources efficiently, and collaborate closely with HV/LV control, submitting switching schedules and conducting network operations in line with distribution safety rules. Providing technical support to field staff and producing thorough risk assessments and method statements for safe project execution will be key. You will manage contractors, oversee quality assurance, and be prepared to respond swiftly to emergencies.
Your success will be measured by your technical competence, adherence to internal and external safety systems, project management expertise, customer satisfaction, resource management, and commercial awareness. You'll work as part of a close-knit team, able to prioritise and manage multiple projects while championing innovation and high standards. To thrive in this role, you'll need to be a Senior Authorised Person (up to and including 33kV, as defined by the Distribution Safety Rules), hold an HNC in Electrical Engineering, and have hands-on experience with distribution systems from 400v to 33kV. Your ability to communicate at all levels, work independently, and demonstrate customer focus and teamwork will set you apart. Full Ministry of Defence Security Clearance is essential, as well as a valid driving licence.
