My client is a multi-billion pound civils and rail contractor, with a rich history of delivering some of the UK's most ambitious and transformative infrastructure projects. From major network upgrades to high-speed rail developments, their work shapes the future of and local connectivity. They are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Signalling Project Engineer to join the team.\n\nYou will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our rail systems, applying your expertise in modern signalling technologies and control systems.
They are looking for a professional with a proven track record in rail signalling projects, who possesses strong technical knowledge, an IRSE license, and a commitment to quality and safety. \n\nFulfilling the duties of the PE as detailed within RA-ENG-PRO-003 'Project Engineering Management Process'\n\nSupport the Project Manager and management team to monitor the progress of works and ensure that the development, design, construction, testing and financial targets are met and effect remedial action where required.\nEnsure that the technical standards are maintained in all aspects of signalling project work, in order that safe and successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved.\nParticipate in and monitor the planning and progress of works in relation to timeline and budget and ensure that the development, design, construction and testing requirements are met and effect remedial action when required. \nBe the Project Manager's engineering representative on projects where required.
\nCoordinate the engineering activities of sub-contractors. \nReview and assess the engineering aspects of project changes. \nPerform duties as directed by senior management from time to time.\nComplete mandatory training courses as defined contract agreements.\nDemonstrate engineering excellence, through innovative thinking and a willingness to adopt of new processes, tools and methods of working.
\nKnowledge or experience of safe working on the railway\nAwareness of Network Rail standards and design approvals processProject Engineers (PE) are allocated as required to support the PEM in the delivery of the project. PEs may be appointed where there is a need for specialist knowledge, or to spread the project engineering workload.\n\nThe PE may be assigned 'Work Package Manager' responsibility by the PEM for the delivery of a package of work to the required standards and within the agreed timescales. \n\nThe Project Manager may also delegate budgetary responsibilities for these packages of work whilst retaining accountability.\n\nNominal activities include and are not limited to:-\n\nAssisting with the planning of Engineering works, production and submission of Racecards, Lookaheads and SWP applications where required.\nCompilation of H&S File requirements for the projects.\nCompilation of asset trackers and documentation trackers that support the project needs.\nAttendance and input to project meetings as required/requested.\nManagement of integrations of small packages of works within the project allocated.\nSupport the PEM & /or the CEM where required and as directed.\nAct as WPM for elements of the deliverables detailed and assigned within the project program.\nIntegration between other disciplines where required to support the elements of works assigned.\nAct as PEM or CEM on small projects
