Company Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled QA Engineer to join their team for a 4 month contract.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives:

You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of Java-based applications through both manual and automated testing, collaborating closely with development teams, and contributing to continuous improvement of testing practices.

• Design and execute comprehensive functional and regression test cases across backend and frontend systems.
• Develop automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Work closely with developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to clarify requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
• Identify, document, and track defects while assisting in their resolution to maintain high software quality.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Proven experience with Java development, including frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
• Strong hands-on experience in functional testing using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, version control systems (e.g. Git), and DevOps practices in Agile environments.

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

• Experience with performance and security testing tools
• Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS or Azure beyond basic familiarity
• Exposure to additional automation frameworks like Cypress or Appium
• Familiarity with containerisation tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
