Quality Engineer

6 Month Contract

Our UK leading banking client are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract.

Key skills/knowledge required:

• Strong proficiency in Python-based testing frameworks (eg, Behave, PyTest, unittest)
• Experience in automated testing of data pipelines and ETL processes
• Experience with data validation frameworks and testing data transformations across Snowflake and AWS environments
• Knowledge of API testing tools and frameworks (Postman, REST Assured, or similar)
• Hands-on experience testing OMS platform integrations (Aladdin, Murex, Charles River) and validating trade life cycle data flows
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery
• Hands-on experience validating data accuracy and integrity across multiple systems
• Experience working Embedded within cross-functional agile teams rather than separate QA departments
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to design effective test strategies for complex data workflows
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, delivery roles, and business stakeholders
• Knowledge of testing methodologies for data pipelines, APIs, and integrations
• Knowledge of data quality testing patterns and anomaly detection in capital markets data
• Understanding of compliance and audit requirements in regulated financial environments, and how these shape test coverage
• Awareness of capital markets trading workflows and trade life cycle events
• Familiarity with agile delivery principles and "shift-left" testing practices
• Proven track record designing and maintaining test frameworks in Python
• Proven experience testing production-grade data pipelines, APIs, and capital markets integrations
• Experience working in agile delivery teams with cross-functional collaboration

Desirable:

• Experience in manual exploratory testing for data validation and UI components
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Snowflake) and their testing considerations
• Knowledge of CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent) and integration with test frameworks
• Exposure to agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Team Topologies)
• Understanding of performance and load testing approaches for data-intensive systems
• Knowledge of OMS platforms (Aladdin, Murex, Charles River) and related integration patterns
• Understanding of multiple asset classes (equities, Fixed Income, derivatives)
• Awareness of test data management practices in regulated environments
• Background in capital markets or financial services with exposure to OMS integration
• Experience balancing automated and manual testing approaches
• Familiarity with regulated environments and audit/compliance testing requirements
