We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join a leading advanced manufacturing business in Derby. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining product quality standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with ISO9001 and customer requirements in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain the quality management system in line with ISO9001 and relevant industry standards. Conduct internal and supplier audits, promoting compliance and best practices across the supply chain. Support production teams with quality control activities, including in-process and final product inspections. Lead root cause investigations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Develop and maintain quality documentation including control plans, inspection records, and reports. Work closely with engineering, production, and customers to resolve quality issues and ensure product conformity. Analyse quality performance data and recommend improvements to processes, tools, and procedures. Provide training and guidance to employees on quality standards and compliance requirements. Skills & Experience: HND/Degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Previous experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing or regulated environment. Strong understanding of ISO9001 quality standards and auditing techniques. Hands-on experience with precision manufacturing processes or tooling (desirable). Skilled in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods such as 8D, FMEA, and Lean. Excellent attention to detail, with strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the business.
