QUALITY ENGINEER - CIVIL ENGINEERING
DIDCOT, OXFORDSHIRE
We are recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join our Energy Division, working in a site-based role based on a large civil engineering project in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Works comprise of RC structures, roads, drainage, paving, steel frame and exterior cladding.
The Quality Engineer will have experience of working on energy projects for National Grid and understand their policies and SR procedures. This role will suit an individual who is able to manage and solve issues in relation to quality management and site delivery.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support the Quality Manager in the production, review, updates and implementation of the relevant ITPs, Quality Plans and inspections and all other quality related activities
Interpretation of project specifications and communication of requirements to the project team, liaising with client in relation to variation, concessions and issues raised.
Monitoring and measuring Management System effectiveness, including data/root cause Analysis, Auditing (corrective and improvement action) and report writing
Ensuring CA following RCA is implemented and closed out in a timely manner
Producing Quality Performance Reports against Audit Criteria, Objectives / KPIs, Contractual Requirements Development of contractual and project related quality documentation, including records of inspection and test plans, support the completion of quality documentation packages supporting installation, completion and commissioning
Overseeing quality of work delivered by subcontractors and engage/support development and review of QA plans and ITPs produced by Subcontractors.
Attend staged inspection on behalf of Trant Engineering Limited
Review and approve project records/documentation on behalf of Trant Engineering Limited
Review & approve ITP and Quality Plans
Producing Quality Performance Reports against Audit Criteria, Objectives / KPIs, Contractual Requirements
Review O&M manuals to ensure compliance
Raise & close out non-conformities including defects
Attend quality meetings
Read and understand Engineering Drawings
Support the site team in delivering the works and ensuring notices and inspections are undertaken and completed to a high standard
Background/Skills:
A background in Quality Engineering within the construction industry
Current or previous experience within a heavy civils site environment
Understanding of National Grid procedures and industry standards
Report Writing/ Presentation Skills
Experience in a client facing role
Strong IT skills (MS Office and SharePoint)
High attention to detail/accuracy
Certified Internal/Lead Auditor/Internal auditing advantageous but not necessary
Experience of GIS substations and ISS security works preferred but not necessary
Proactive problem solver
Qualifications:
