Fire Protection BIM is a growing and dynamic sprinkler design company working alongside multiple top-tier sprinkler companies across the UK. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Revit Design Engineer to join our Revit sprinkler design team.
Role Overview:
As the Revit Sprinkler Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the creation and development of fire sprinkler system designs using Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other BIM software. You will collaborate with project teams to deliver coordinated, code-compliant sprinkler designs for a range of commercial and residential projects.
This is a fully remote role, and there are no required in-person meet-ups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create accurate 3D models of fire sprinkler systems using Revit and other BIM tools.
- Work from design mark-ups, specifications, and drawings to produce detailed layouts.
- Coordinate designs with other disciplines using tools like Navisworks.
- Ensure models are aligned with current fire protection codes and standards (BSEN 12845, NFPA, FM Global).
- Revise models and layouts based on feedback from engineers, project managers, and clients.
- Maintain version control and organized project files.
- Participate in remote coordination meetings and design reviews when necessary.
- Support continuous improvement of BIM processes within the company.
- Ensure project deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
Qualifications:
- Extensive proficiency in using Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other BIM software for fire sprinkler system design.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection codes and standards (BSEN 12845, NFPA, FM Global).
- Hands-on experience designing fire sprinkler systems for commercial and residential buildings.
- Expertise in hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
- Additional qualifications such as LPCB Sprinkler certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with fire alarm and gas suppression systems is advantageous.
- Previous experience in sprinkler system modelling is highly desirable.
Ideal Candidate:
- At least 5 years of experience in fire sprinkler system design, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of hydraulic calculations and system performance analysis.
- Strong problem-solving ability and keen attention to detail.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality work.
- A proactive and collaborative attitude, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 per annum based on experience.
