Sales Engineer – Managed IT & Telecommunications

Are you a technical professional who loves solving complex problems and bringing innovative technology solutions to life? We’re seeking a Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team, bridging the gap between cutting-edge IT solutions and our customers’ business needs.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Sales and Solution Consultants from the very start of opportunities, providing both technical and commercial expertise to help customers understand, evaluate, and implement our solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, supporting Sales and Solution Consultants.

* Qualify new opportunities quickly, assessing both technical feasibility and commercial fit.

* Respond to tenders and proposals, covering technical, functional, and commercial aspects.

* Design and deliver innovative solutions that address customer business and technical objectives.

* Present solutions and product demonstrations in person or via video conferencing, showcasing features, benefits, and value.

* Maintain accurate technical documentation of solutions and ensure smooth handover to delivery teams.

* Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure solutions meet customer needs.

* Identify opportunities to improve processes and propose more effective ways of working.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

* Genuine interest in Managed IT and Telecommunications.

* Technical expertise in at least two key solution areas.

* Working knowledge of networking and security principles, including:

* L2-L4 TCP/IP stack

* Switching (L2/L3) and IP routing (OSPF, BGP)

* Redundancy protocols (VRRP)

* Security principles (Stateful Firewall, UTM, IPSec, SIEM)

* Wireless principles (SSIDs, encryption, authentication)

* Excellent written and verbal communication, able to simplify complex technical concepts for customers.

* Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

* Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, agile environment.

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

* Presentation skills and commercial awareness.

* Technical certifications in key solution areas.

* Familiarity with SD-WAN and SASE technologies.

* Knowledge of Private & Public Cloud architecture.
