We are seeking an experienced, credible Technical Sales Manager or Sales Engineer with an understanding of aggregate or powertrain technology who can handle accounts with some of the largest OEM manufacturers across the UK and Nordic regions. We are part of a multinational group and need you to drive our key account management and sales management function.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales function in the UK for the sales, business development and technical consultancy of powertrain products to OEMs in sectors including mining, tunnel boring, steel manufacturing, aggregate, road-working, and recycling.
  • Handle key account management, respond to sales inquiries generated from marketing, and leverage long-standing relationships to open doors with new potential clients.
  • Be home-based with travel to customers across the UK (approximately 75%) and Nordic regions (approximately 25%).
  • Build connections with OEM manufacturers (including R&D departments) to identify applications and specification of high-spec anti-friction products, machinery, equipment and R&D services and testing.
  • Collaborate with service management to offer excellent customer service and maintain strong rapport and trust with clients.

Qualifications

  • Autonomous, self-motivated, driven, and able to sell technical solutions at multiple levels.
  • Credible “face of the company” from a technical perspective.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles related to powertrain technology and its application to OEMs.
  • Strong commercial sales experience; able to manage extended lead times from initial conversations with R&D to presentations at a C-suite level.
  • Prepared to attend approximately 2 weeks of training in the US in the initial months, with regular shorter trips thereafter.

Location

Covering the UK and Nordic regions from a UK base. Commutable locations include London, Reading, Bristol, Swindon, Gloucester, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Sheffield, Derby, Leicester, Coventry, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Luton, and Watford.
