Security Engineer | Contract Inside IR35 £1000 / day | Hybrid London (2 days / week) | Cyber Secuirty, Threat Detection, Query Languages, Scripting

We are looking for a Security Detection Engineer to enhance and maintain cyber security detection capabilities. This role focuses on monitoring evolving threats, developing and improving detections, and ensuring robust coverage across systems while working closely with security, engineering, and compliance teams.

Experience & Skills Required:

• Knowledge of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Experience developing detection logic
• Strong experience with Query languages (KQL etc.)
• Experience in Azure environments
• Hands-on with Windows, macOS, or Linux operating systems.
• Scripting with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
• Familiarity with detection and monitoring technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable working at scale.
• Passion for cyber security and ability to work both independently and in teams.
