We are looking for a Senior Associate Civil Engineer to reinforce our South, South East and South West teams with a focus on sewer networks and combined storm overflows, in support of AMP8 investment needs. Location Brighton, Croydon, London, Reading, Cambridge, Southampton; UK Role purpose and responsibilities In this role, you will: - work with and manage multidisciplinary teams of technical specialists, delivering projects in close partnership with clients and contractors - build strong client relationships to enhance our reputation and secure further work - lead the design of innovative and sustainable solutions to address storm overflows spills across client water networks - represent the company in meetings and supervise the work of more junior staff, providing technical and commercial guidance to support their development Candidate specification We are looking for a driven individual with strong UK wastewater infrastructure experience and the desire to take wider responsibilities. Essential:
Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field Chartered Status (CEng) with a recognised Professional Institution Significant experience in the development and delivery of outline, feasibility and detailed design solutions for sewer networks and storm overflows within the UK water sector using appropriate calculation tools Demonstrable understanding of hydraulic engineering principles Commitment to professional development and knowledge of current and emerging technical solutions for combined storm overflows Good understanding of designers' responsibilities under CDM Excellent technical report writing skills using concise English Ability to check and review technical deliverables, calculations, and reports Strong communication skills with experience in effective collaboration across internal multi-disciplinary teams including environmental, geotechnical, structural, electrical and mechanical engineers
Desirable:
Track record in building teams and developing junior staff Experience delivering blue-green solutions Understanding of process engineering applicable to storm overflows Experience in preparing bids and in client engagement
